Do you feel burnt out? Are you questioning your career? Or the company that you work for? Maybe even the product or service you are selling? Perhaps, you simply want to have more energy to face your workday. Don't worry, this book is here to help you.
I have worked in door to door sales and business to business sales, and I understand that a sales career comes with its ups and downs. More and more sales people feel the lack of motivation in their lives and it is common to hear people around the coffee maker say "I am burnt out". The speed of this world has picked up, what used to work is now outdated. What used to be fast is now considered slow. Everything is moving fast, and people just don’t have the attention span they used to have. Worst of all, there is so much mixed information out there it can leave you feeling overwhelmed instead of motivated to take action. For example, "Cold Calling is Dead"; sound familiar? Should you use closing techniques or not? The list goes on. So many mixed reviews on what works and what doesn't. Every time your week is not going as good as it could be, you start doubting your ability to sell and so does your manager. I don’t know, but the fact, way too many people have been losing touch with themselves, and reality because they are so focused and worried about work and hitting targets only to then set higher targets.
The number one reason we start to procrastinate and lose our motivation to sell is Emotions. You see, we think of things we should do, and even know how to do them, but why don't we do them? Why do we still end up suffering from a lack of motivation and drive to take action? One thing I always found to be true is the worse you feel emotionally, the more likely you are to procrastinate. Feeling motivated is all about getting excited and blocking out what may ruin your good mood. Change of focus and staying motivated daily is possible by making a habit of filling your mind and body with the right fuel. To paraphrase Zig Ziegler, motivation is like bathing; it doesn't last but that
is why we recommend it daily. However, life has many ups and downs and is not always easy. My goal is not to just motivate you but rather give you seven steps that you can apply on a daily basis to help you succeed. As they say, motivation is what gets you going and habit is what keeps you going. It is time to shake things up and give you some new habits. Now let’s look at the seven steps you can take to help you stay motivated in sales.
